The ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager certification is a PECB credential for professionals who can lead the design, implementation, and management of a risk management framework and process based on ISO 31000. It's awarded after passing the same three-hour "ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager" exam used across the whole credential line, but requires at least 5 years of professional experience, including 2 years and 300 hours specifically in risk management — one tier above Risk Manager (2 years/1 year/200 hours) and one below Senior Lead Risk Manager (10 years/7 years/1,000 hours). The exam covers seven domains: fundamental principles and concepts, establishing the risk management framework, initiating the risk management process and assessing risks, risk treatment, risk recording and reporting, risk monitoring and review, and risk communication and consultation.
